Wendy's Words This ring was designed to have a gemstone setting that would harmonize with the other rings in the inspirational Flower of Life collection when stacking. The Abydos ring is a slightly deeper band that I like to wear closer to the palm.
Design Inspiration Abydos is the oldest known place of discovery for the Flower of Life in the Osiris temple. The Osiris temple is special because of its unique geometric construction which is believed to be inspired by the Flower of Life. The Sphinx is the only other temple in the region to be constructed of the same materials and manner.
Product Care High Polish Sterling Silver: Since tarnishing is caused by oxidation of the metal when the silver comes in contact with the air, keep your jewelry in its anti-tarnish bag, or in a fairly airtight container like a velvet-lined jewelry box. Also, your natural body oils will help keep the jewelry clean so remember to wear it!! Don’t leave it out on a nightstand to tarnish. If the jewelry does begin to tarnish, lightly scrub the surface with a thick paste of baking soda and water using a soft bristled toothbrush. If the tarnish is more severe, try a silver cleaner like Wright's Silver Polish or a silver dip remembering to avoid stones such as turquoise and garnet to protect their luster. Matte Finished 14K Gold Vermeil: Vermeil is defined as an overlay of gold on sterling silver. This ensures a quality metal as opposed to base medals under your gold. Because of its plating, vermeil should never be polished. If severe tarnish is occurring from the sterling silver tarnishing beneath your gold, an ultrasonic cleaning can be used on a limited basis. To avoid these future tarnishing problems, we have added a palladium layer between our sterling silver and gold. Palladium is part of the platinum family and prevents the silver under our gold from tarnishing for a number of years.
