These hoop earrings were designed to have a gemstone setting that would harmonize with the other pieces in the Flower of Life collection. They are a perfect match for the Abydos Smokey Quartz Rings. The Abydos Hoop Earrings are a staple that every woman must own.
Abydos is the oldest known place of discovery for the Flower of Life in the Osiris temple. The Osiris temple is special because of its unique geometric construction which is believed to be inspired by the Flower of Life. The Sphinx is the only other temple in the region to be constructed of the same materials and manner.
Vermeil is defined as an overlay of gold on sterling silver. This ensures a quality metal as opposed to base metals under your gold. Because of its plating, vermeil should never be polished. If severe tarnish is occurring from the sterling silver tarnishing beneath your gold, an ultrasonic cleaning can be used on a limited basis. To help reduce this tarnishing, we have added a palladium layer between our sterling silver and gold on many items. Your vermeil will look beautiful for a long time to come and will “antique” with age for a charming new look. Just remember to protect it in your anti-tarnish felt bag or a velvet lined jewelry box to avoid scratching, chemicals, hairspray, and make-up.
