Wendy's Words With this bracelet, I wanted to juxtapose the handcrafted, unique ‘akasha’ design with a bolder chain to create a statement bracelet that could still be worn daily. The Flower of Life has truly been inspirational for designing, and I think this bracelet is a great piece of jewelry from the collection.
Design Inspiration The bracelet's name, Akasha, is found in the Hindu religion meaning "sky." In Hindu mysticism, the "five great elements", Panchamahabhuta, represent fire, water, air, earth, and light and sound elements that bring both spirit and nature together. The Akasha is the primary element of which all other elements are created. Just as Akasha brings both spiritual meaning together with natural meaning, the Flower of Life is believed to hold the key to understanding the form and shapes existent on earth that show testament to the existence of a higher being.
Product Care High Polish Sterling Silver: Since tarnishing is caused by oxidation of the metal when the silver comes in contact with the air, keep your jewelry in its anti-tarnish bag, or in a fairly airtight container like a velvet-lined jewelry box. Also, your natural body oils will help keep the jewelry clean so remember to wear it!! Don’t leave it out on a nightstand to tarnish. If the jewelry does begin to tarnish, lightly scrub the surface with a thick paste of baking soda and water using a soft bristled toothbrush. If the tarnish is more severe, try a silver cleaner like Wright's Silver Polish or a silver dip remembering to avoid stones such as turquoise and garnet to protect their luster. Matte Finished 14K Gold Vermeil: Vermeil is defined as an overlay of gold on sterling silver. This ensures a quality metal as opposed to base medals under your gold. Because of its plating, vermeil should never be polished. If severe tarnish is occurring from the sterling silver tarnishing beneath your gold, an ultrasonic cleaning can be used on a limited basis. To avoid these future tarnishing problems, we have added a palladium layer between our sterling silver and gold. Palladium is part of the platinum family and prevents the silver under our gold from tarnishing for a number of years. Your vermeil will look beautiful for a long time to come, just remember to protect it in your anti-tarnish felt bag to avoid scratching, chemicals, hairspray, and make-up. * For more info, please visit our Product Care page.
