Known for its spiritual healing qualities and the belief it reduces stress, Amethyst was the perfect semi precious gemstone to adorn the new designs for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life jewelry. It's rich purple hue will hopefully serve to remind everyone of the power of hope... hope for future treatments, hope for our loved ones, and hope for a cure.
I chose these specific styles to adorn with Amethyst as a symbol of both strength and spirituality. My hope is they will serve as a reminder and inspiration for you or a loved one to continue the fight against cancer with the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Thank you again for supporting this relationship and our goal of helping the American Cancer Society end cancer.
Here at Wendy Culpepper we are always open to supporting a wonderful organization and when they happen to be in our own community- we jump at the opportunity to meet with our neighbors and extend a helping hand. When we came across the American Cancer Society, we knew this would be a cause that would resonate and being someone who’s been close to cancer survivors I knew I needed to get more involved. We are proud to be a part of the Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society’s signature event. Teams of people from all walks of life raise much-needed funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment. The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated.
Since tarnishing is caused by oxidation of the metal when the silver comes in contact with the air, keep your jewelry in its anti-tarnish bag, or in a fairly airtight container like a velvet-lined jewelry box. Also, your natural body oils will help keep the jewelry clean so remember to wear it!! Don’t leave it out on a nightstand to tarnish. If the jewelry does begin to tarnish, lightly scrub the surface with a thick paste of baking soda and water using a soft bristled toothbrush. If the tarnish is more severe, try a silver cleaner like Wright's Silver Polish or a silver dip remembering to avoid stones such as turquoise and garnet to protect their luster.
