Ignite Change Campaign: Raising Awareness
The "Ignite" Collection is a very special selection of jewelry I designed to support three very important foundations. We donate 15% of all proceeds directly to charity.
The charity who receives the donation is dependent on the gemstone you choose. To support all charities with 5% equally benefiting all three foundations, we have designed two sterling silver styles with our new campaign slogan, "Ignite." Help us "IGNITE CHANGE" and hopefully continue to grow this campaign in an effort to raise awareness and support more important foundations in the future!
BLUE TOPAZ:
Parkinsons' Disease Foundation, www.pdf.org
My father has struggled for over 20 years with Parkinson's Disease. I don't recall a time in my life when this disease hasn't dictated a portion of my actions. I have promised myself that I will always continue to work hard and raise awareness until we have educated people about the affects and truths of this ailment.
RHODOLITE:
Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, www.komen.org
The Susan G Komen Foundation has made amazing strides in raising awareness as well as funding for research that is saving the lives of women across the U.S. I am a proud granddaughter of two phenomenal women who had the care and knowledge to fight this terrible cancer. I am hoping with continued support, the number of loving family and friends with successful stories like mine will grow exponentially.
PERIDOT:
American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, www.aspca.org
It's become common to see how many people love their pets as part of the family, and my husband, a veterinarian, and I are no exception as we lovingly refer to our animals as our "fur-kids." Unfortunately, its pets that aren't seen who are abused, neglected, and terribly treated that desperately need help. Their silent stories are horrible and too easily ignored, so I'm hoping we can help raise funds and efforts to save each wonderful animal, give them care, and find them a loving home.
Special Foundations & Charitable causes we support
While the company supports a number of charities through auctions and other means, Wendy has a few causes that are particularly special to her.
American Parkinson's Disease Association
Ever since Wendy was six years old and her father was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, her family has struggled to bring knowledge about the disease to the general public. Great progress has been made in the past ten years through a number of organizations and efforts, and Wendy continued her personal crusade by volunteering with the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association "Race, Walk, & Roll" until she recently moved back to New York City. The Walk-a-Thon is a grassroots project that is run by a number of communities across the U.S. to raise money for research.
Parkinson's is a degenerative disease that breaks down the brain's ability to control and use voluntary muscles. You can visit the following links for more information about the disease and what you can do to help:

American Junior League
The Association of Junior Leagues International, AJLI, is dedicated to the creed of "women building better communities." This national organization has a number of regional chapters that choose a cause to dedicate their time, services, and fundraising abilities to help. Through their efforts, they are able to commit time and grants that will support a number of other community organizations and promote health, goodwill, and education in their areas. Wendy is currently a member of the Rhode Island chapter, www.jlri.org, and you can learn more about the national organization at www.ajli.org.
