One of our favorites, the Jane Necklace, has been duplicated and drapes classically in two tiers, creating the contemporary “Double Strand” Jane Necklace. Worn by Rachael Ray on the cover of her magazine, this elegant 14K gold vermeil piece is always a hit and perfectly complements an open neckline.
The look of elegance and grace was inspired by the majestic Victorian era. The organic scrollwork that stylized the time inspired my collection of interwoven metal that is bejeweled with brilliant, faceted stones. Combining my organic technique with this imperial English flair, each piece of the Victorian Collection can be characterized as a versatile, sophisticated statement.
Vermeil is defined as an overlay of gold on sterling silver. This ensures a quality metal as opposed to base metals under your gold. Because of its plating, vermeil should never be polished. If severe tarnish is occurring from the sterling silver tarnishing beneath your gold, an ultrasonic cleaning can be used on a limited basis. To help reduce this tarnishing, we have added a palladium layer between our sterling silver and gold on many items. Your vermeil will look beautiful for a long time to come and will “antique” with age for a charming new look. Just remember to protect it in your anti-tarnish felt bag or a velvet lined jewelry box to avoid scratching, chemicals, hairspray, and make-up.
