While Egypt is the first known discovery place of the inspirational Flower of Life icon, the Mayan civilization was also found to have been worshiping the same symbol nearly half way around the earth. It was believed the symbol could help them unlock the secrets of the natural world showing faith on earth and a pure connection to validating the existence of the Gods.
Vermeil is defined as an overlay of gold on sterling silver. This ensures a quality metal as opposed to base metals under your gold. Because of its plating, vermeil should never be polished. If severe tarnish is occurring from the sterling silver tarnishing beneath your gold, an ultrasonic cleaning can be used on a limited basis. To help reduce this tarnishing, we have added a palladium layer between our sterling silver and gold on many items. Your vermeil will look beautiful for a long time to come and will “antique” with age for a charming new look. Just remember to protect it in your anti-tarnish felt bag or a velvet lined jewelry box to avoid scratching, chemicals, hairspray, and make-up.
