This 14K gold vermeil necklace is a combination of the Osiris, Akasha, and Mandorla styles. Freely swinging and complimenting the contour of the collar, this necklace combines all the interesting carvings and designs of the Flower of Life collection in a manner that seems to fully balance the design giving it the “Merkaba” name.
The Merkaba, often studied through meditation, is a counter-rotating field of light around the body. It is considered to be generated by the spinning of geometric forms that emanate from the body affecting both spirit and body. The energy field which is meant to align the mind, body, and heart, also takes the form of the individual Flower around the body, and the Flower of Life is part of the sacred geometry studied to fully achieve activation of the Merkaba.
Vermeil is defined as an overlay of gold on sterling silver. This ensures a quality metal as opposed to base metals under your gold. Because of its plating, vermeil should never be polished. If severe tarnish is occurring from the sterling silver tarnishing beneath your gold, an ultrasonic cleaning can be used on a limited basis. To help reduce this tarnishing, we have added a palladium layer between our sterling silver and gold on many items. Your vermeil will look beautiful for a long time to come and will “antique” with age for a charming new look. Just remember to protect it in your anti-tarnish felt bag or a velvet lined jewelry box to avoid scratching, chemicals, hairspray, and make-up.
