When designing, you often have favorite pieces, but the shocking outcome is always when your favorites completely change. This necklace was to be a simple addition to layering, but after completing the piece, I absolutely love it. I think it should be a staple for anyone. It layers really well with the Jane Necklace, Medium Fiore (these are sold as a set), and so many more... I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I do!
The Osiris temple in Abydos, Egypt was specially created from a geometric format based on the Flower of Life. Carved in the middle of the temple, it was considered to help connect the temple to the Gods through its powers and symbolism. In Egyptian religion, Osiris was a legendary ruler and the god of the underworld. He brought to the people knowledge of agriculture and civilization. The worship of Osiris was so strong it later spread through the Mediterranean region well into the reign of the Roman Empire.
Since tarnishing is caused by oxidation of the metal when the silver comes in contact with the air, keep your jewelry in its anti-tarnish bag, or in a fairly airtight container like a velvet-lined jewelry box. Also, your natural body oils will help keep the jewelry clean so remember to wear it!! Don’t leave it out on a nightstand to tarnish. If the jewelry does begin to tarnish, lightly scrub the surface with a thick paste of baking soda and water using a soft bristled toothbrush. If the tarnish is more severe, try a silver cleaner like Wright's Silver Polish or a silver dip remembering to avoid stones such as turquoise and garnet to protect their luster.
