The Surge has a special story for me. I originally drew the sterling silver earrings and matching necklace while I was studying design years ago. I never made them in metal, but I always remembered how I had been inspired by a surge of electricity. When one of the girls at work saw the drawing and brought it to my attention, I thought the Ignite charity collection was the perfect time and theme for me to finally bring this jewelry to life.
“Ignite Change” for charity – need we say more? Ignite is a collection all about giving back. We want to continue our efforts of supporting charities by donating 15% of the proceeds of each piece from this collection directly to charity. Three main charities currently benefit from the “Ignite Change” campaign, and we look forward to adding more in the future. Vermeil is defined as an overlay of gold on sterling silver. This ensures a quality metal as opposed to base metals under your gold. Because of its plating, vermeil should never be polished. If severe tarnish is occurring from the sterling silver tarnishing beneath your gold, an ultrasonic cleaning can be used on a limited basis. To help reduce this tarnishing, we have added a palladium layer between our sterling silver and gold on many items. Your vermeil will look beautiful for a long time to come and will “antique” with age for a charming new look. Just remember to protect it in your anti-tarnish felt bag or a velvet lined jewelry box to avoid scratching, chemicals, hairspray, and make-up.
