I love this piece. It’s definitely one that shines when someone has the opportunity to wear it. Each silver “Joey” is beautiful enough to stand alone, but the set of three fans out across the chest making for a very flattering and bold necklace.
My roots as a small town Floridian became apparent in my first collection. While designing, I found myself wanting to give texture to my metal - not just any texture, but texture reminiscent of an alligator pattern. As my model making continued, I found I strayed from my initial idea, a common theme for me, and soon developed a new pattern. I realized it reminded me of little footprints, so I kept the alligator theme. Apparently, the Floridian who was raised on University Florida Gator football, saw a few alligators in her time, and became a UF 'gator' herself didn't stray far from her roots.
Since tarnishing is caused by oxidation of the metal when the silver comes in contact with the air, keep your jewelry in its anti-tarnish bag, or in a fairly airtight container like a velvet-lined jewelry box. Also, your natural body oils will help keep the jewelry clean so remember to wear it!! If the jewelry does begin to tarnish, lightly scrub the surface with a thick paste of baking soda and water using a soft bristled toothbrush. If the tarnish is more severe, use a silver polishing cloth on the surface. Do NOT dip oxidized silver in polishes or creams because they will remove the black oxidization of the design. The cotton cord is sturdy and can be immersed in water. However, please avoid allowing the cord to come in contact with any abrasive cleaners, as discoloration may occur. All cord is replaced free of charge for the life of the jewelry. If the cord becomes damaged or discolored with time, please contact us, and arrangements will be made for its replacement.
