Design Inspiration While colors always inspire me, the Bird of Paradise flower caught my eye with both its bright colors and unique outline. Our Fiore shape, inspired by Italy, is such a great complement and framework that I felt fusing the two would create a fabulous metal sculpture. The ability to mix and match jewelry has always been something I love to do, but this collection not only layers well, it gives full circle to it's look by incorporating our well-known signature shape. I feel having the chance to combine my favorite memories, shapes, and inspirations in a collection is the foundation of my love to design and create jewelry.
Product Care Matte Finished Sterling Silver: Matte finished silver is equally susceptible to tarnish as high polish so its always important to protect your jewelry in its anti-tarnish bag, or in a fairly airtight container like a velvet-lined jewelry box. Remember to wear it frequently since your natural body oils will help clean the silver, but most importantly, never leave it sitting on your dresser in the open air where it will actually tarnish faster. To remove tarnish, the most effective method is a small piece of Scotchbrite pad (not treated with soap). By lightly brushing the pad in the same direction as the original strokes, you’ll see the matte finish reappear with little effort and no chemicals! * If you must use a dip for severe tarnish, always remember to avoid suede and turquoise. Matte Finished 14K Gold Vermeil: Vermeil is defined as an overlay of gold on sterling silver. This ensures a quality metal as opposed to base medals under your gold. Because of its plating, vermeil should never be polished. If severe tarnish is occurring from the sterling silver tarnishing beneath your gold, an ultrasonic cleaning can be used on a limited basis. To avoid these future tarnishing problems, we have added a palladium layer between our sterling silver and gold. Palladium is part of the platinum family and prevents the silver under our gold from tarnishing for a number of years.
